PARIS
ARCHI-TOURS

PoMo is back !
Full of humour and irony, postmodern architecture is a victim of social and taste shift: we look at it as if a crazy architect had filled our cities with UFOs.
In spite of that, during the 80s it was considered a way to bring art to the people and was part of a reflection that involved all intellectual and artistic fields in the occidental world... and now it's back!!!
After Haussmann
The surprising architecture of rue Réaumur
At the beginning of the 20th century, rue Réaumur was the most important working site in Paris.
It was here that a new architecture was experimented, taking advantage of the most advanced technologies and of a swift shift of the public taste.
In fact, to the strict construction rules imposed by the baron Haussmann during his transformation of Paris, people reacted with an explosive mix of fantasy, art and technology that gave birth to a fascinating and hybrid architectural style: the Éclectisme.
